Listening to families. Advocating for students.
Building stronger schools
A Trustee Who Listens.
For the past several months, I've visited schools across Wards 11 & 12, spoken with parents, students, educators, and community members, and listened to the issues that matter most.
Those conversations continue to shape my priorities and guide my advocacy.
What I Stand For

Student Safety
Every student deserves to feel safe on their journey to school and while they're in it.

Special Education
Every student deserves the support they need to reach their full potential.

Student Achievement
Supporting strong literacy, numeracy, skilled trades, and lifelong success.

Transparency & Accountability
Families deserve clear communication and responsible stewardship of public funds.

Parent Engagement
Parents deserve to be informed, included, and heard.

Strong Communities
Schools succeed when families, educators, municipalities, and communities work together.

WHY I'M RUNNING
Through my own family's experiences with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and through the many conversations I've had while supporting other families, I've seen where our education system works well, and where there are opportunities to do better.
I'm running because I believe parents deserve to be heard, students deserve to be supported, and decisions should be guided by transparency, accountability, and the real experiences of the families our schools serve.
My commitment is simple:
Listen. Ask questions. Follow up. Advocate.
Those principles guide every conversation I have and every decision I would make as your School Trustee.
What I've Been Hearing
Over the past several months, I've spoken with hundreds of parents, students, educators, grandparents, and residents.
Although every school community is unique, many of the same concerns continue to emerge.

Listening Starts in the Community
The best decisions begin by listening.
That's why I'm regularly visiting schools, local businesses, parks, community events, and organizations throughout Ancsater, Binbrook, Glanbrook, and Mount Hope.
If you see me, please stop and say hello. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Meet Melissa
I'm a proud Hamilton resident, parent of two boys in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and owner of an Ancaster based property maintenance company.
As a member of the HWDSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC), a long-time volunteer, and participant on numerous parent and school councils, I've had the opportunity to listen to families, work alongside educators, and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our schools.
Combined with 17 years of senior operations and logistics leadership and a business diploma, I bring practical leadership, financial knowledge, and a collaborative, solutions focused approach to every decision.
